Interactions exhibition opens on Islay

Here’s a wee film overview of the Interactions exhibition on Islay by the wonderful Ian Hardie. A glimpse of a great time and a lot of work by Anne Campbell , Pauline McGee and Cathy Wilson. Lots of you couldn’t make it to Islay so hope you enjoy watching this video.

Following a very successful opening event on Friday 21st July we were delighted to be interviewed for the latest “This is Islay Podcast” presented by Jolyon Thurgood. Even better to report that the podcast has already encouraged more visitors to the exhibition. Click on the icon to listen. Huge thanks to Jolyon!

A big thank you from fellow art exhibitors Anne Campbell, Cathy Wilson and me to all who came along to the Interactions opening night on Friday 21st at the Gaelic Centre Ionad Chaluim Chille Ìle. There was a great turn out with loads of positive feedback and a wonderful atmosphere.

Thanks to Ella Edgar for her generous introductory speech at the opening of the exhibition. Also the ladies in Café Blasta for their support and John MacIntyre for returning tables and chairs for us. Ian Hardie, Maggie Bell and Maureen Crosbie offered assistance in so many ways and bundles of laughs along the way. Thank you all.

There is another event to look forward to: WHISKY and ART on Friday August 4th 5.30 – 6.30pm. Martine Nouet will match three Islay malts with three art works from the exhibition. Booking is essential, please call on 01496 810818.

I’m delighted to be exhibiting work for the first time on beautiful Islay with Anne and Cathy. This exhibition of drawing, painting and stained/fused glass explores the interactions between land, sea and the people of Islay and highlights the depth of personal and professional relationship between us artists since student days.

We are grateful to Ionad Chalum Chille Ìle for their support of this exhibition which runs from 17th July to 11th August 2023, Monday to Friday 9-5pm. Please note the centre is closed at weekends.
