New venture – Arts @ St Paul’s
Kinrosshire is a great place to live but I have missed having an arts venue to visit when I go to Kinross. It just so happened that recently St Paul’s Church was searching for ways to make their lovely church hall more open and accessible to community groups. A few like-minded creatives met together and launched the idea for a rolling programme of art & craft exhibitions by local talent over a set period to assess the benefits for everyone.
Things took off quickly with our newly formed committee working hard to bring many strands of art and practicalities together. On Friday 15th September Arts @ St Paul’s was officially launched and our first arts exhibition opened to the public. Amazingly this happened to coincide with a visit to Kinross by none other than King Charles who agreed to visit the exhibition and meet with committee members.
What a way to launch Arts @ St Paul’s with the King’s visit attracting people to Kinross and right to St Paul’s. King Charles spent time speaking with us individually and was greatly interested in the art on display. He happily signed our book as first visitor and our opening weekend was off to a flying start.
